Philosophical Geometry
We will examine the philosophical and symbolic meanings behind geometric patterns, which manifest throughout nature, music, art, and architecture. We will study the theories developed over centuries. It involves concepts like the Golden Ratio, which appears in various forms all around us. This approach to geometry dates back to ancient civilisations, including the Egyptians, Babylonians, and Greeks—particularly the works of Pythagoras and Plato—when scientific study was approached holistically rather than in isolated disciplines.
This group would be best suited for those with a basic understanding of Euclidean Geometry (as traditionally taught in high school) and some familiarity with mathematics. Our aim would be to explore mathematics from a more philosophical and holistic perspective—what might be called “Mathemagics.”
